We talk a lot about our professional lives, relationships, mental health, and emotional well-being. Of course, talking about these are extremely important and good. However, when it comes to our running a household and the innumerable issues that befall us daily, there’s not much ever told. One of the prime misfortunes that one often comes across in their daily lives is the problem of clogged toilets. Yes; you’re right. No matter how trifle it seems in front of the grave worldly woes, it is indeed a task that needs to be straightened at the soonest.

Does it sound a bit similar? Well, we know it is a fearful scenario, which is why we have brought to you three easy ways in which you can clear unclog your toilet. These are time-tested methods and requires no rocket science to be used. Take a look –

1. Pour hot water. Wait. Flush

This is one of the quickest and easiest methods. Hot water works magically when it comes to unclogging drains, toilets, and sinks. In this case, you need a few cups of hot water. Pour this boiling water into the toilet and wait for some time. About a minute or two must be enough. Thereafter, you can flush as usual. Hot water dissolves the dirt and grime, and breakdown the waste products. As a result, the clog loosens. Later, when you flush it out, the remaining dirt goes away with the flow.

2. Add soap. Wait. Flush

If you have some time in hand and if you find that the clog isn’t much harsh yet, this method works fine. In this method, you can use any type of soap – detergent, liquid or even shampoo – and pour it all over the toilet. Detergent works great in this case. Then, wait for it out for some time, preferably an hour for the best result. Thereafter, scrub a little with the toilet brush and flush it out as usual. As one might know, soap tends to clear the dirt by breaking even the minutest particle. However, giving it time to work is absolutely mandatory, so perform this step when you’re not in any kind of hurry.

3. Plunge it up

Before you start plunging, make sure you have a flange plunger as the general cup plungers don’t work great when it comes to unclogging toilets. Flange plungers are equipped with a rubber sleeve that manages to extend below the dome-shaped cup, section or boot. You have to be ensured that the flange is extended as you lower the plunger into the toilet. Perform this task at an angle that allows the boot to be filled with water instead of trapping air. Thereafter, insert the flange into the drain pipe and press down in order to let the boot seal tightly around the hole.

Now, push the plunge in both upward and downward direction as both these forces are required to unclog the toilet. If the clog is too harsh, you can let it sit in that position for a few minutes before working on the same. Flush after you’re done!
